As pride month comes to an end I wanted to do a little painting tutorial in celebration. And I wanted to specifically celebrate a very important and beautiful part of the LGBTQ community, the trans community. In this tutorial we make a painting inspired by the colors of the trans flag which are pink, blue, and white in honor of a massively influential figure, Marsha P. Johnson.
This is a beginner style acrylic painting tutorial that focuses on blending and layering silhouettes to create depth. This totally took me probably about an hour to complete, but you can take as much time as you want!

This rustic evergreen tree looks great with rustic Christmas decor. Feel free to change this painting to fit your decor.
Supplies Needed:
1. Wood (palette wood, fence wood, weathered wood). The sizes of your wood may vary and does not need to be exact. Cut 5 pieces of wood. My sizes from top to bottom 4", 5", 6", 7.5", 9" ...you will also need one long piece of wood that is a little smaller than the length of all your pieces together to secure the pieces in the back.
Watch the video on how to prepare the wood and secure it as seen in my Beach tutorial in the first steps, link given below. youtu.be/eQRqzQElp0Y
In this video art lesson I cover the basics of blending bright and vibrant colors using many layers of acrylic paint. I used various paint brushes which I cover throughout the painting. To paint the stars I used a sewing needle dipped in paint.
Materials used:
— Golden fluid acrylic paint (titanium white, carbon black, primary cyan, magenta, light blue permanent, brilliant yellow green, primary green)
— Water for mixing into the paints (thinning) and washing brushes
— 16x20" stretched canvas
